I has been working with a variety of animals my whole life. I obtained a degree in Psychology, Sociology, and also studied Exotic Animal Training and Maintenance in Moorpark, CA. before moving back to my hometown of Flagstaff. I started my business Merry-Go-Round Carriage Rides in 2015 which offers horse drawn carriage rides around downtown, for weddings, events, and more. I have also worked with high school age students with emotional disabilities at the school district for several years. In my free time, I train and compete with wild mustangs and burros through the BLM. I am also a licensed falconer who enjoys hunting with the assistance of my Harris hawks and other birds of prey.

Amelia is a born and raised Texan ... and was brought up on the back of many a horse. Since then she has traveled around the country as an Insurance Claims Professional. She and her husband Brian landed in Flagstaff to come back ‘West’ from the Eastern Seaboard. Since arriving in 1988 - they have continued working and volunteering in the Special Needs Field. Amy began working with Adults and Children in the early 70’s in Texas and around the country. In the early 90’s they became Certified Special Needs Foster Parents. Many children have come and gone ... but they are delighted to have two Special Needs children that both came in 1995 - Hunter Girl and Miah - that have decided to become legal residents of their loving home. Both of their kids have been enjoying and receiving benefit from Hippo Therapy all of their lives. Hunter was not able to walk (Incredibly low tone) when she began riding as a wee one and was not expected to be ABLE to walk. Happily with her Horseback experiences - Water Therapy along with stellar PT & OT - Amy believes that all of these assisted with Hunter being totally 100% mobile now! Amy has established and served on numerous Non Profits over the years - and is honored to be involved with 15 Hands & Hearts Equine Therapy. She and Brian very much believe in the value of this wonderful modality in their kids and others lives!
